Check into adult day care – some may be available for overnight stays. Does sis belong to a church? There may be some members there who would volunteer to take Dad for a day or two. You only say he can't travel – can he care for himself at home, and just have someone come check on him two or three times a day?

If other family members are unable to care for your father; then you can look for "respite care" in your community. In the US, look for your Local Area Agency on Aging, this group can refer you to services in your area.

Why can't you do this for them? Do you still work? I think it would be nice if you could and of course not charge them. They need a break, caring for someone can be very challenging. I cared for my father for almost a year, my children were young and my husband worked away from home. It was hard for me, I had no siblings to help me.

In our area a 24 hour live in runs between $250 and $300/day.
