   What kind of pet ?
   a dog can be crated
   a cat will use the litter box day and night if yoru home or not
   a hamster well its cage ect ….
   fish in their aquarium they dont need walking or anything !!!!

   Depends on what kind of animal you get. Dogs should be trained to stay in a crate. But read a book on how to crate train dogs before you get one. Cats are ok on their own.

   It depends what kind of pet you would like to have. If you would like a cat they can stay home alone easily as long as they are litter box trained. A dog could stay home alone again as long as it is trained and doesn't always need someone by their side. I have a frog. THey are really fun, don't need attention, and are cute if you are into that sort of thing. Birds are also good for being by themselves just fill up the dish every time the food is gone and dump the poo.

   if your in school for a long time i would recommend that you get a cat….they pretty much take care of themselves…..they like to have hanging toys out while your gone though….you don't have to worry about letting them out….i have a cat and a dog….its hard with my dog cause he has to be let out at the very least every 10 hours…..and he's still a pup so he had to be crated so he doesn't chew and pee…..i am a stay at home mom right now that's why i got my pup now….my cat i just make sure he has food water and a clean litter box and i hang some toys around and hes good to go….

   Wherever you keep it in you home leave the following things for him:
   Toys
   Chews
   Anything to keep him busy and not to get bored.
   Leave a Tv or Radio on so he does not feel alone
   Maybe even get two animals to keep each other company

   There are a variety of pets that will be alright without any special care while you are at school. My dad works long hours, so I am the primary pet caretaker in or house, and I do a fine job even though I go to school. I walk my dog before and after school to ensure he has minimum "waiting time" while I'm away. He also gets fed before and after. My cat has a litter box for bathroom purposes, and I do the same with her food. My hamster requires little day to day maintenance, but I just check his water and food every evening. Same for my gerbils. In my opinion, the only animals that can't be left alone for the duration of a normal school day are young dogs or cats, extremely curious dogs or cats, or animals with specific health conditions that require hourly attention. If you ask me, the best pet is a gerbil. Just me though.

   i have 2 cats, before i go to school i change their water give them food and make sure that all the windows are closed.

   Well it depends. How big the pet is. I have a pet bird and I had a hamster. The way I would take care of them would be before I'd go to school I would take out my pet, play with it for a while. After school/work I would do my homework with my pet on my side outside of their cage. I would let them play outside of their cage till I went to sleep.

   I used to crate my rescue dog (he was 4 at the time) until he learned how to control his bowels and bladder. After a year or so of this I left the gate open and let him freely roam. He has not had an accident until he was very old and we were away for a great deal of time and never has gotten into anything deemed off limits or chewed anything up except for a few times I left an open bag of potato chips on the coffee table(too much temptation)He has always been good in this way (even as a dalmation) as he HATES to be outside unless it is to do his business.He was neglected and left outside in the open elements as a young dog so he always has been on the up and up to be an indoor dog.A cat is a better choice if you must be away for the day. They seem to adjust better to periods without their companions as they have each other.

    IF you don't have money for pet care, definitely do NOT get a dog. It isn't fair to the dog, they need vet care
