I agree with Sherri S... Try Fly Lady... the site is www.Flylady.net. Also, give yourself an easy schedule you can follow with set goals and rewards. Often we set the bar WAY too high and then feel "if it can't be perfect, why bother". Just remember a little here and there is better then none at all. BABY STEPS!
References :
Try listening to an ipod or other mp3 player while you are cleaning. Load the player up with your favorite music and listen to it while you are cleaning. Your attention is on the music, it helps to block out outside distractions and keeps you on task to get more done.

It also helps to deal with the small messes as they occur. Dirty a dish? wash it right now. Change your clothes? put dirty ones in the hamper right now. Hamper full? throw it in the washer right now. Clutter building up? deal with it right now.

I know - sounds good on paper - easier said than done, hope you can find a solution to help ease your mind.
References :
Attitude makes all of the difference in the world. If you consider any task a necessary PLEASURE rather than a necessary EVIL, it may be easier for you to tackle. A friend of mine used to end up in the hospital and seriously medicated when she stopped taking her meds because she thought she was okay. Even though I may not want to take my pills, I DO because I know that they help in the long run. That helps me get through some of the rough spots like dealing with layers of dust, dustbunnies, dishes, etc. Tackle the chores one at a time and do them more often. That makes it take less time and effort each time to actually get something done.
References :
well turn on some music, something that can give u a boost of energy, scream-o works for me, it may not work for you.

start in 1 room and if u find yourself working on 2 or projects at a time ( like i find myself all the time doing) it's not that bad cuz your only in 1 room!

THIS IS NOT A JOKE--- write yourself a large note outside of the room your working in, so when u try to go in the next room it's kinda like a "hey finish that room first" reminder..
it works trust me..... lol I'm not bi-polar but i do have a rare case of A.D.D.

AND if nothing else works, your housekeeping will last a few days . that's not soo terrible..

Stand tall, and work with yourself not against yourself.

Check out flylady. I am ADHD. House cleaning can quickly get away from me and that site with the emails really can keep me on track. Even if I hit a stretch where I am not keeping up the site helps me pick back up where I left off. They not only help keep you on track with cleaning but meal planning, bill paying, and your health and beauty routines. Flylady might feel a little juvenile at first but if you just give it a try you'll see that the system works.
References :
Robots. The Roomba and Scuba are great for floors and vacuuming so that's one way to lighten the load. They are a little expensive but they work really well. HSN.COM has the best price.
References :
The only advice I have is to try and stay on top of it. Make yourself clean as you go along. It's a lot harder to tackle a large cleaning job than it is to tidy up as you make messes. I have to force myself to do that, otherwise the house will look like a dump.
