How much would you charge for pet sitting?

How much would you charge for pet sitting over Thanksgiving for a 1yr old chihuahua?
I'm not a kennel, or a proffesional buisness.

Please put your answer per day.

Thank you=]

I applied for a "doggy daycare" as a care taker. They charged $25 a day but this was a full service facility with vets on call, grooming, alone time with the pet etc. If your just doing this out of your home I would think about $10 to $15 a day provided you can show your potential customer some references and provide a safe loving place for your potential customers pets. Hopefully you can build a client base and with more experience you can raise your rate.

Best of luck

contact kennels in the area where you live and find out what they would charge. Then adjust your rates from there. Try charging 1/2 what the kennel would charge and as you gain more experience, increase your rates.

$20 a day, minus 50 cents for every kiss that you do to the dog. I don't want my doggy to be kissed by someone else. Hmmmp!

Being that you are pet sitting over a holiday, I would charge about $15 to $20 per day.

If it was for my friend, I would not charge them, I'd just swap sitting services like I do for my kid! lol But if you really want money, just ask them what they are willing to pay. Sometimes people are more generous than you would ask for. Make sure they have a portable kennel that you can keep the dog in for it's safety, comfort, and well being while at your house. Chihuahuas can easily get stepped/sat on by folks that aren't used to them and aren't watching for them. :)
