Which one is more favorable: senior care group home or big assisted living facility?

I am thinking about open a senior care group home using my own home, but I do not know how likely people would like to come comparing to big assisted living facility. Actually I can offer much better detailed and more private services like one on one certified nurse aid and shared registered nurse care plus shared chef. Only 5-7 seniors in one $5M house. Each client will have seperate bedroom and will have 24 hours care just like day time service. The monthly fee may be around $25000 per person, but it will include everything such as individualized food, utility, room, daily Housekeeping service, personal and health care services and companionship 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, plus any time transportation. The environment is also very clean, neat and ultra luxury. How many people would like to choose my service comparing to the traditional assisted care facility?

I have visited people in both a Senior Care Group Home & a large Assisted Care Facility. I personally preferred the Senior Care Group Home. I lived across the street from one a few years ago. The home was really large & very comfortable for all residents. Each resident had their own bedroom, which was spacious & was equipped with a bathroom. The residents shared the downstairs living quarters & were able to watch tv, read, play card games, board games, etc. If they wanted privacy, they stayed in their room. The kitchen was huge & the residents all dined together in the very cozy kitchen. The home was staffed with nurses, & Other staff, 24/7. Family was always welcome & they could take their loved one out for the day. The home had a large van & they took residents here & there. If I couldn't live in my own home later, for whatever reason, I'd choose to live in a Senior Care Group Home.

What kind of insurance needed for in home pet sitting business?

We live in NY state. I am considering pet sitting in my home as a side business. How do I go about finding out what insurance I would need? I want to protect myself from liability in case the dog I am watching bites someone or destroys property.
Also, if you know what type of license or permits I would need or where to find out about those in NY state, I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Thanks.

None is required by law.

YOUR policy won't protect you, if the dog destroys his own house, or yours. But the bite thing is an issue.

Because of that, the liability insurance for this type of business can be pretty expensive – as they can't underwrite by animal. Expect it to start at $2500, since you want bite liability coverage. Without bite liability, you'll be able to get it at $500 or so – IF someone is willing to write it.

In any case, you'll need to buy that coverage, through a local, independent agent (www.iiaa.org for a list by zip code).

How do i open an in-home day care in Michigan?

I am a senior majoring in Sp. Ed at EMU and I am not ready to work outside the home. I want to earn an income doing something helpful to Others- and that I know I will succeed at…and still be home with my own children. Just looking for a point in the right direction on in-home day care businesses. Any info is very much appreciated. Thanks and God bless.

Check the licenses and requirements in your state. The Administration for Children and Families provide a state by state listing of contacts for licensing and regulations governing child care businesses:

In Michigan, contact this agency as they are the ones handling the licensing and regulation of day cares

Child Day Care Licensing

Some states will not require a license if you are taking care of a few children (often not more than 5) but check with your state if they have that option

I suggest you prepare a business plan. Even if you will not be applying for a bank loan, a business plan helps you to think through your business – what it needs, who it will benefit, how much it will cost, and what is its potential. How much should I charge for pet sitting?

I live in So. California and their home is about 15 miles away. They have three dogs I would be caring for overnight. I have done pet sitting in the past for family, but I'm not sure how much to charge a night?

I would say if they aren't family, 20 bucks per day if you have to drive there each day. I know the gas is more expensive there.

How do I start a successful child daycare business?

I'm 12 and want to start a babysitting business in my apartment complex. How should I start? I'm pretty good with kids, and responsible. I know some neighbors have kids and would like to babysit them. So how do I get started?

Make flyers on your computer and print them out saying how much you charge, your phone number, good qualities about yourself, etc. Put flyers on people's car windshields, on their doors, or hand them out when you see them. Make a poster and put it on the lawn where families can see it. Tell people who have kids or have your parents mention it to their friends who have kids. Basically, the more you tell Others and get the advertising, then the more business you will get. BE CAREFUL… if you put your phone number on posters and flyers, that means ANYONE can call you. You never know, a child predator might give you a call so ALWAYS use good judgement. Make sure you are acquainted to the people whose kids you are babysitting and to be on the safe side. Have your parents go with you to the family's home (if you are going to babysit there) for the first time to meet the parents.

Good luck… I hope you make a lot of $$$$.
